What does “I’m Korean” mean?

In the last panel of this strip people often comment, “I don’t get it”. What does “I’m Korean” mean? Well… other than the fact that “Famine” character is based on myself who happens to be  Korean, there’s actual logic behind it. Mochi is made of rice. And there are many different types of rice people of all different nationalities eat. The type of rice most Koreans enjoy are sticky rice. And in the strip, “Famine” was chopped in half but he was able to put himself back together because he’s “sticky” rice. Duh!

I suppose it’s probably not a good joke if most people don’t get it. Nevertheless, I believe sometimes not knowing the reason behind the joke makes it a joke itself. But for those who have to the “get’ the joke to enjoy, now you have your explaination.

So out of all those who saw the strip first time around, who “got” the joke and who didn’t? Enquiring minds want to know.
